Belleville Police officers responded to a crash on Wednesday, a two-vehicle collision at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Dundas Street West. Freezing rain and ice pellets made driving difficult for Quinte Residents on Wednesday. Most schools in the region closed early. Hastings Prince Edward Public Health also closed at 1pm today due to weather conditions .
Belleville, Quinte West, Picton and Napanee remained under a freezing rain warning as of late Wednesday afternoon, while a winter weather travel advisory continued for North of Belleville, Madoc Stirling, and Tweed.
Environment Canada said the freezing rain would continue into the evening and overnight, mixed at times with ice pellets, and hazardous travelling conditions were expected. The freezing precipitation was forecast to last into Thursday, so roads and highways would once again be a challenge.
